Mihai I / Herăstrău Park (Parcul Herăstrău)

How to get there – the fastest way is to take the subway from Universitatii Square, 5 min away from the hotel, and get off at the Charles De Gaulle station, which is right next to the entrance to the park. 

Cișmigiu Gardens (Grădina Cișmigiu)

Located just a 3-minute walk from Bucharest Hotel Cismigiu, in the heart of the city, this park is the city’s oldest garden, celebrating this year its 170th anniversary. Two foreign landscapists – Wilhelm Mayer and Franz Harer – created this beautiful garden during the reign of Gheorghe Bibescu – in 1882, it was electrified. In summertime, Cișmigiu Garden hosted popular celebrations, sports competitions, lake-side runs, boat rides, swimming competitions, and even Romania’s first boxing match. Cișmigiu Gardens is a picturesque oasis with winding pathways, colorful flower beds, and tranquil ponds. It’s an ideal spot for a peaceful stroll or a romantic boat ride on the lake. 

There are some tourist attractions in Cișmigiu Gardens, such “The Writers’ Circle” (Rondul Roman), that exhibits busts of 15 Romanian writers: Eminescu, Odobescu, Maiorescu, Caragiale, Coșbuc, Iosif, Creangă, Vlahuță, Zamfirescu, Hasdeu, Bălcescu, and Alecsandri. “The Citadel” is the ruins of a monastery built in 1756, from which a secret tunnel led to Crețulescu Palace on the bank of the Dâmbovița River and “Sissi Stefanidi Spring” is the statue of a young woman who died at the age of 21, depicts her mother pouring water from a pitcher, with the inscription “Dedicated to my dear child.”

Botanical Garden (Grădina Botanică)

Situated near Cotroceni Palace, Bucharest‘s Botanical Garden is a haven for plant enthusiasts. Floreasca Garden

Luscious green and with a pool, this is the perfect spot for pool parties, as well as for a cold beer on a hot summer’s day. With a Mediterranean-inspired menu – you can find anything here, from salads to pasta, burgers, and desserts. Everything pairs perfectly with a cocktail or a chilled glass of wine! The terrace is located at 16 Mircea Eliade Street, in the northern part of the city.
