As we dive into 2025, Bucharest stands ready to captivate visitors with its unique blend of history, culture, and modern vibrancy. Whether you’re planning your next getaway, a city break or simply curious about one of Europe’s most dynamic capitals, Bucharest offers a world of experiences waiting to be explored.

Here’s why Romania’s capital should be on your travel list this year and what makes it an unforgettable destination.

A City of Contrasts

Bucharest, often called “Little Paris of the East,” beautifully blends its storied past with a contemporary pulse. From museums in Bucharest to ornate Belle Epoque French-inspired architecture to cutting-edge art galleries and bustling nightlife, the city is a destination where contrasts come alive.

The Old Town (Lipscani District): The heart of Bucharest’s historical charm lies in its cobblestone streets, lively cafes, and vibrant nightlife. Wander through its maze of alleys to discover hidden gems like the Stavropoleos Monastery, a serene 18th-century Orthodox church and other things to see in Bucharest.

The Parliament Palace: As one of the world’s largest administrative buildings, this colossal structure must be on your things to do in Bucharest list. Built during the Ceaușescu era, it’s a testament to Romania’s history and ambition. Guided tours offer an inside look at its grandeur and complex legacy.

Cismigiu Gardens: For a touch of tranquility, stroll through this beautiful park in the city center. Its pathways, lakes, and old-world charm make it a favorite among locals and visitors alike. Hotel Cișmigiu, located just steps away, provides the perfect starting point for exploring Bucharest’s highlights.

Accommodation That Enhances the Experience

Hotel Cișmigiu is not just a place to stay; it’s part of the Bucharest experience. Nestled in the heart of the city, this boutique hotel combines elegant 20th-century architecture with modern amenities, making it a favorite accommodation in Bucharest among travelers.

With its central location, situated near Cișmigiu Gardens – one of the oldest parks and gardens in the city – the hotel offers easy access to Bucharest’s main attractions, including the Old Town and the Parliament Palace. Spacious, stylishly designed rooms provide the comfort and luxury you need to recharge after a day of exploration and the perfect Bucharest accommodation

Celebrate Romania’s Cultural Renaissance

Bucharest in 2025 is brimming with cultural events and experiences that highlight Romania’s artistic and creative resurgence. Here are some cultural highlights not to miss:

George Enescu Philharmonic Concerts: Named after Romania’s most celebrated composer, the Romanian Athenaeum hosts world-class classical music performances in a setting of breathtaking beauty. Book tickets in advance to enjoy an evening of symphonic splendor. This is the year when the George Enescu Festival will take place.

Art Safari: This is an annual event that takes place at Pinacoteca Bucharest, a historic building in the Old City, that is opening the 2025 season with an exceptional program, with exhibitions by Ioan Andreescu, Ion Țuculescu, Forgotten Romanian Painters, Young Blood 4.0: The New Wave of Contemporary Artists, and Against the Current: A Photography Exhibition.

Here is what some of our former guests had to say about their visit to this Bucharest hotel

Beautiful Hotel, Great Location

This stunning hotel has been tastefully decorated with an art deco theme. Our suite was extremely clean and spacious. The variety of foods available for breakfast was excellent. All the staff were friendly and professional.  The location of the hotel is perfect. Easy walking distance to everything centrally. Perfect, I would highly recommend. (October 2024 – TripAdvisor)

Great location, lovely big rooms.

I can’t really fault this hotel. The location is great, just down from University Square and over the road from the Old Town. The room was clean and very spacious. It had a separate living/dining area with TV. Perfect if you just fancied ending your evening feet up with a beer. The breakfast was most satisfactory (albeit I steered clear of the sausages!) The staff were friendly and accommodating. Overall, a great hotel, clean, tidy, good breakfast, lovely big rooms, friendly and helpful staff. I’d go there again. (October 2024 – TripAdvisor)
